Coffee Club is a ministry in which we feed breakfast to people who are poor and homeless Monday through Friday. In addition to this, we offer optional Bible studies and communion services. We are studying the Acts of the Apostles in our Bible Study right now.
-Bible Study begins at 6:55 A.M. and ends at 7:30 A.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
-Communion begins at 6:55 A.M. and ends at 7:30 A.M. once a month
-Volunteers for breakfast arrive at 7:00 A.M. to prepare and help serve from 7:30-8:00 A.M.
Interfaith Hospitality Network / Family Promise is a ministry to families who are homeless. Families live at the church for one week four times a year. Volunteers choose from a variety of opportunities:
-set up living spaces for the families within the church
-prepare and serve meals
-share meals and visit with the guests
-act as overnight hosts
-help with break-down and clean-up at the end of the week
-launder linens after the families' departure
Adopt-a-School provides a number of teaching materials, computer equipment, hygiene kits, new school supplies and clothing to middle school students of Mobile County Training School in Prichard.
Meals on Wheels provides meals for elderly and indigent residents of the downtown area Monday through Friday.
Bread Delivery volunteers pick up loaves of bread and deliver them to GSPC for use at Coffee Club and Meals on Wheels.
Loaves and Fish volunteers serve lunch at 15 Place, the downtown day service center every fourth Monday.
Sewing Circle volunteers sew, stitch, knit, and crochet baby blankets for newborn babies.
Urban Mission Camps take place eight weeks during the summer. Youth and college students stay at Baytreat and participate in a variety of urban ministries throughout the week. For more information, see our Urban Mission Camp link.
Richard Mighell Day Camp is a four-day Vacation Bible School program that takes place during the summer for children who are part of the Boys and Girls Club in Mobile.
Presbyterian Children’s Home Camp is an opportunity for boys and girls from the Presbyterian Children’s Home in Talladega to stay at Baytreat for a week and have a camp experience.
Alternative Spring Break is a week-long experience in which college students stay at Baytreat and participate in a Habitat build over their Spring Break. We offer two weeks of this opportunity.
