 Sunday School Classes for all ages

Other C.E. Opportunities

 

 2010 Sunday School Classes (9:30-10:30)

A church-wide study on the the 7 Habits of Disciples will began February 21st and will run through March 21st. 

This study will be incorporated in all Sunday school classes. 

A collection basket is located in the office for any writings that result from this study,
that students wish to offer for later assimilation into a common book.

The Pastor's Class    

In the Parlor, with Dr. Sinclair.

Description:  Book and discussion class.  All are welcome.

 

The Young Adult Class I with Reverend Ryan Jensen  

Location:  This class is on-going in the Guesnard House, 2nd floor.

Curriculum:  Interpreter's Series

Description:  This class is designed for single and married college students and young adults.

 

The Young Adult Class II with Henry Morrissette and John Ashbee  

Location:  This class is on-going in the Guesnard House, 2nd floor.

Curriculum:  Lectionary Study

Description:  This class is designed for men and women 25-40 years old.

 

Women's Class with Dr. Laurie Shorter

Self-contained classes with lessons about the "one-anothers" of the Bible.  This class continues in 2010. 

CurriculumThe Serendipity New Testament

Meets in the Frist Room at 9:30 a.m.  For women of all ages who are seeking prayer and a discussion group to belong to on Sunday mornings.
 

The Covenant Class

Location:  Meets in the Hitchcock Room (Multi-purpose room) on the second floor.  

Description:  Designed for men and women 40+ years old.

 

Men's Dubose Class

Location:  Meets in the Guesnard House adjacent to the church parking lot.

Description:  Designed for men of all ages.

CurriculumThe Present Word, PC(USA) Study Material.
Please note that this is an on-going course.

 

Presbyterian Youth Connection (PYC) - Junior and Senior High Schoolers

Description:  Youth, grades 6th through 8th

Location:  Jr. High Room, 2nd floor

Curriculum:   Please contact Kathryn Threadgill for details.

 

Description:  Youth, grades 9th through 12th

Location:  Sr. High Room, 2nd floor

Curriculum:   Please contact Kathryn Threadgill for details.

 

Children's Classes*  

Location:  Three classrooms in the children's area, Main Floor     classroom I    classroom II   classroom III

Description:  Children, ages 4 through the 5th grade

Curriculum:  Walk With Me

* Wee Worship is offered for children ages 4 through First Grade during worship. After the Children's Sermon, children are escorted from the sanctuary to the children's area on the Main Floor to participate in Bible lessons, music, and enrichment activities.

Toddlers' Class

Location:  Toddlers' classroom in children's area, Main Floor    toddler room

Description:  Children, ages 2 and 3

Curriculum:  God Loves Me

 

Nursery Care

Location:  Two nurseries in children's area, Main Floor     crib nursery

Description:  Nursery for ages 6 weeks through 3 years old.  Available during Sunday school, worship, and special events.
 

 

Additional Classes

 

Women's Monday Morning Bible Study 

This group meets in the Frist Room from 8 - 9 AM on Mondays.  For more information,
contact Casi Callaway at 209-4253.

 

Women's Tuesday Morning Disciple Group

Meets on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the Parlor/Library on the 1st floor. The Disciple Bible Study series has been used frequently along with other studies focusing on the Bible.

West Mobile's Men's Morning Bible Study 

This group meets on Tuesday mornings from 7 -- 8 a.m. at Rudy Nordmann's home.

Young Men's Wednesday Morning Bible Study 

Led by Dr. George Sinclair, this group meets on Wednesday mornings in the Frist Room on the second floor from 7-8 a.m.  
 

 Men's Disciple Class

Meets on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:00 p.m. in the Parlor on the Main Floor. The Disciple Bible Study series has been used frequently along with other studies focusing on the Bible.
 

 Men's Friday Morning Breakfast and Bible Study

Led by Dr. George Sinclair, this group meets on Friday mornings in the Frist Room on the second floor from 7-8 a.m., and is comprised of men ages 30-50. Breakfast is served from 7- 7: 15 a.m.
 

 Presbyterian Women Monthly Bible Study 

Women at GSPC are invited to join one of five circles. Circles meet on the second week of each month, Fall-Spring. Four circles meet during the day and one at night. The study for 2009-2010 is:  Joshua: A Journey of Faith.  For more information, call the church office (432-1749).
